This Privacy Policy describes how LearnMorse ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our Android application. By using LearnMorse, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Learning Progress
We store your per-character Morse code progress locally on your device, including:
This data never leaves your device and is used only to track your learning progress.
App Preferences
We store whether you have enabled or disabled in-app sound. This preference is stored locally on your device.
Usage Analytics (PostHog)
We collect anonymized behavioral analytics to understand how users interact with the app. The following events and properties are collected and sent to PostHog:

No name, email address, phone number, or other personally identifiable information is included in these events. Analytics data is transmitted to PostHog servers located in the European Union.
Device Advertising Identifier (AdMob)
We display advertisements provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google collects your Google Advertising ID (GAID) and standard device information (device model, OS version, general location at country/region level, app interaction signals). This data is processed by Google under their own privacy policy.
App Version Check
On startup, the app contacts our configuration server to check whether your installed version is still supported. The following information is sent:

When you use the MIC learning mode, the app requests the RECORD_AUDIO permission to detect short and long hums via your device microphone. Audio is processed entirely on-device in real time and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. You may deny or revoke this permission; MIC mode will be unavailable but all other modes will continue to work.

Your device's Android backup service may include a copy of your local learning progress and preferences in cloud backup. You can disable this in Android Settings → System → Backup.
LearnMorse is designed for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). Google AdMob is configured to serve ads in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through our app, please contact us (see §9) and we will take steps to delete it.
Local data is stored in the app's private storage, inaccessible to other apps without root access. Analytics data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not have access to your on-device learning progress or microphone audio.
